A Warm Hello

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

Where and When

We meet at the Church Building (details below) for our main Sunday Service starting at 10am. For your first visit, we recommend arriving 10 minutes before the start to get settled before the service begins. When you arrive, you will be greeted by someone on our Welcome Team who will be there to help you. We will ask you to take a copy of our weekly News Sheet, together with a Service Booklet and a Hymn Book. If you require a large print hymn book  or the large print Communion Book please ask.
If you require a gluten-free wafer at Holy Communion or if you prefer to receive Communion in your seat just mention it to the Welcome Team member.
Toilet and Baby changing facilities  are  available at the back of church.

There is three hours free parking in the Teanlowe Car Park and it is just a short walk to St Chad's.

Poulton is well served by public transport and the St Chad's Church tower is a good reference point from anywhere in the town.

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it.

Our Service
The main Holy Communion service is accompanied with hymns lead by our Choir. Details of our Junior Church arrangements will be found on Our Groups page.
The main service begins at 10.00 am with a warm welcome from one of clergy team who will also give out any Notices, usually about what's going on in the life of the church and if required they will also read out any Banns of Marriage.

Parish Communion -The service will follow the Common Worship as set out in the booklet you were handed on arrival. The traditional worship will include a talk that is based on the bible reading for that day.  Communion will ordinarily be taken at the front of the church but for those who would like to receive it in their seat just have a word with one of the Welcome Team. Communion can be taken by any confirmed member of any church. Wine will be offered but if you prefer not to take it that is absolutely fine. If you are not confirmed but would welcome a Blessing then please also go forward and at the front just keep your arms by your side.

All Age Worship - This informal service is for all the family. On arrival you will be asked to take our News Sheet and also a Service Sheet. A member of our clergy team will lead the service and there will be some prayers, and a short talk together with some songs. Sometimes our Mitten Ministry assist with the service.

Getting Connected

Groups

While Sundays are a great way to meet new people, it is often in smaller gatherings that you can really get to know someone. Being involved in one or more of our groups allows you to make new friends, share together and support each other. We have a variety of groups that meet throughout the week, some afternoons and some evenings. Check out Groups and see if there’s one that you could join, or we can put you in touch with a group leader who will be more than happy to invite you along to their group.

Serving and Volunteering

If you want to get involved in the life of the church and help us make the various activities we are involved in run smoothly, please have a word with one of the Leaders or a member of our Welcome Team.
